NAU Athletics Particpates in 2012 Armed Forces Day Parade

For the second straight year NAU Athletics participated in the Flagstaff Armed Forces Day Parade with new Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos and Head Football Coach Jerome Souers participating in the ceremonies and parade. The event had it’s highest turnout yet with over 100 floats and hundreds of people lining the streets in downtown Flagstaff. Below are some photos from the ceremonies and parade…Enjoy!

We would like to say Thank You again to all of those who have served, are serving, and will serve to defend our country in the Armed Forces. Thank You for everything you have done and sacrificed!

Lumberjacks Scrimmage Through Windy Conditions

The Lumberjacks second scrimmage of the 2012 Spring occurred on Friday during windy and cool conditions in Flagstaff. The scrimmage contained some lively competition and friendly banter with yet again the offense having the competitive edge over the defense. The scrimmage was also broken up by a visit and brief message by NAU’s new Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Lisa Campos. A picture of Dr. Campos addressing the team can be found here (thanks to NAU Media Relations Director Steve Shaff). All in all the scrimmage allowed many players to get valuable reps and the long upcoming weekend allows players to rest up and get healthy for when the Jacks return to the field on Tuesday. NAU Hires New Vice President for Intercollegiate Atheltics

NAU announced that its long anticipated search for a new Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics has come to a close today with the naming of Lisa Campos to the position. Campos was chosen by the search committee from over 80 highly qualified candidates. Campos previously has served as the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at the University of Texas at El Paso.
