NAU Hires New Vice President for Intercollegiate Atheltics
NAU announced that its long anticipated search for a new Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics has come to a close today with the naming of Lisa Campos to the position. Campos was chosen by the search committee from over 80 highly qualified candidates. Campos previously has served as the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Jacks Return to the Field; Focus on Tempo
When the Lumberjacks returned to the field on Thursday, the focus was on the tempo, effort and enthusiasm of practice. Thursday’s practice was a high energy affair that included many fast paced drills.
The Bachelier Connection
NAU Football has been fortunate enough to not have to worry about the reliability of a long snapper for their special teams. Ben Bachelier has manned the position for the past few years with overwhelming effectiveness and consistency. Ben graduated in December, however there is another Bachelier waiting in the wings, in the form of Andy, the younger brother. Andy is walking on this spring as a sophomore and hoping to pick up the long snapping duties. In the video below Ben and Andy discuss their relationship and the art of long snapping. Enjoy!

Lumberjacks Hit the Field in First Spring Practice of 2012
NAU Football got back on the field for the first time since the end of the 2011 season on Tuesday kicking off their 2012 Spring practice schedule. Tuesday’s practice is the first of 15 in the spring and featured a focus on fundamentals and individual drill work with a very energetic tempo.

The Jacks are back on the field Thursday afternoon to continue to spring practice schedule and preparations for the 2012 season. Now, enjoy some of the sights from the 2012 season.

NAU Football Spring Practice Schedule Released
The 2012 NAU Football Spring Practice schedule has been released featuring 15 practices beginning on Tuesday, March, 27th, and culminating with the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April, 28th. The practice schedule will follow a weekly Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday format to allow for optimal time with student-athlete academics, play and scheme installation, and film review and analysis. The only exception to this format will be the week of Friday, April 13th. There will be a scrimmage on Friday the 13th instead of Saturday, April 14th, to accommodate the Lumberjack Golf Classic held in Sedona on the 14th.
The entire spring practice schedule is listed below. Spring practices will be open to the public and the schedule is dependent on the weather.
NEW SPRING GAME FORMAT
The annual NAU Spring Football game will take on a new look and feel in 2012. The game will be dubbed the NAU Blue-White Spring Game and will pit the NAU Offense (White) against the NAU Defense (Blue). There will be a scoring format for both sides of the ball, to create a game-day atmosphere. Also, building on the game-day feel tailgating will open on the 28th at 9:00 am and there will be multiple fan promotions, giveaways, and contests before, during, and after the game. The spring game will be held on Saturday, April 28th, at 11:00 am on the Upper Practice Fields across the street from the Skydome. The Blue-White Spring Game is absolutely FREE and open to the public!

2011 End of the Year Banquet
The Annual NAU Football Banquet will be held on Sunday, January 22nd, 2012, at High Country Conference Center on the NAU Campus. (A map to the venue can be found here).
Banquet entry fee will be $15 per person. Events for the ceremony will proceed as following:
- 2:00 PM – Registration
- 2:30 PM – Dessert Social
-3:00 PM – Awards Ceremony
