Coach Tim Plough has been added as the new wide receivers coach at Northern Arizona University. Coach Plough recently served as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator at UC Davis. Plough played and coached under current NAU offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello while at UC Davis. Plough played quarterback at UC Davis and quickly got into coaching as he worked his way up from a volunteer assistant, graduate assistant, then to a position coach when Scangarello left for the NFL’s Oakland Raiders. Coach Jimmy Beal is the running backs coach at Northern Arizona University. Coach Beal is starting his third season at NAU and came to NAU after having served as the running backs coach at Texas State, College of the Redlands, and Rocky Mountain College, where he also coached receivers. Coach Beal played collegiality at Montana State University and Rocky Mountain College for former Rocky Mountain Head Coach and current NAU Safeties/Special Teams Coach, David Reeves. Coach Beal is originally from Los Angeles, CA and recruits the Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and Northern Orange County High Schools for NAU. Coach Beal is the second youngest coach on the NAU coaching staff and can always be found around the field or offices with a smile on his face.

Former NAU, Denver Bronco, and Super Bowl Champion Quarterback Jeff Lewis is the new wide receivers coach at Northern Arizona University. Lewis, who is also a NAU Hall of Fame Member, had spent three seasons as an offensive assistant and wide receivers coach at Louisville before moving back to Arizona and coaching at Prescott High School.

NAU offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello is a new addition to the NAU Football staff. Scangarello brings his expertise of offense to NAU and Flagstaff from the University of Idaho, UC Davis, the Oakland Raiders and Millsaps College (MS – Div. III). Scangarello actually coached former NAU Offensive Coordinator Brian Lidngren when Lindgren played quarterback at Idaho. Scangarello is a native of Sacramento, California and having attended Sacramento State and coaching at UC Davis he is very familiar with the Big Sky Conference.
